Chronology
Working for West Papua Since 2024
Masyarakat Hukum Adat (MHA) Wooti Kook was founded in 2024 to serve as a local implementing partner for conservation initiatives supported under the Tropical Forest and Coral Reef Conservation Act (TFCCA). Our work focuses particularly on the Coral Reef Conservation Program in West Papua, Indonesia, working alongside local and Indigenous communities to protect the region’s unique marine and coastal ecosystems.
For the Malaumkarta Indigenous Community, protecting nature is an honor and a responsibility. Guided by ancestral knowledge, traditions, and climate resilience, we work to preserve our biodiversity. Together, let us bring modern development into harmony with customary law for a just and sustainable future.

Ketua
Troyanus Selfianus Kalami adalah tokoh masyarakat adat Suku Moi dari Malaumkarta, Kabupaten Sorong, Papua Barat Daya. Ia dikenal sebagai pejuang hak-hak masyarakat adat yang aktif memperjuangkan pengakuan wilayah adat, pelestarian hutan, serta perlindungan nilai-nilai budaya dan kearifan lokal. Selain pernah menjabat sebagai anggota DPRD Kabupaten Sorong, Troyanus juga terlibat dalam berbagai forum nasional dan internasional untuk menyuarakan pentingnya peran masyarakat adat dalam menjaga keanekaragaman hayati dan menghadapi perubahan iklim. Dedikasinya menjadikan beliau salah satu figur penting dalam advokasi masyarakat adat di Papua.
